Phuket, 23 - 28 March 2011 - Part 2

Let's continue with the rest of our days in Phuket!

Day 4: Phi-Phi Island - Full day tour
We started from hotel earlier today, heading to the pier for departing to Phi-Phi Island. It was cloudy that morning. As we depart, small rain was falling. We're going to visit Maya Bay first, which is quite far from the pier. It took us around one hour by speedboat. And it's totally different compared to the previous day. Speed boat was operated in FULL speed. It is very fast, and bumpy. I was having a sea-sick, which I rarely had. So I was not enjoying at all, I even put my BB in my bag, hahaha.
One hour like this! Can you imagine?

But then, it's all paid off...

I am sure many of you ever heard a place called Phi-Phi Island. Another famous place because of the Hollywood movie was taken in here. Title of the movie is "The Beach", starred by the handsome actor, Leonardo Di Caprio. I remember I watched that movie. But I cannot remember the scenery on it. I just remember the song, it's sang by All Saints. Another sign of audial person :)

The famous Phi-Phi that was known by people around the world is actually named "Maya Bay", it is located on Phi Phi Ley (maybe the meaning is island, I'm not sure).
So, here's the famous Maya Bay......

I just simply LOVE it. The water is crystal clear, green coloured, and the lovely white sands. I wish we could stay longer in this place.
Leaving Maya Bay, we're heading to Monkey Beach. According to the name, you know what to expect here.
Still, with the same sands, and water. I love it! Too bad I am scared of monkeys, so I just stayed on a boat.
See? Nicee!!
Monkey feeding monkey hihihi *ups*
Next we are having lunch, but I can't remember the name of the island. Food was good. After having lunch we take a look around for a while. Unlike yesterday, on this island there were a lot of shops around the restaurant. It's the tourist center on Phi-Phi Island I guess. There's a lot of bed and breakfast, clothing shops, and also diving center.
With the full stomach, we continue our trip to Loh Sama Bay. We stopped there for around an hour, for snorkeling. Seems so much fun seeing people from the group snorkeling. Too bad I couldn't join. Previous day, after swimming in the sea and my face touch sea water, it felt like burning. The worst part was at night, after having shower. That's why I cannot go snorkeling, I don't want to feel the same pain as previously.
Nanda finally did it after convinced by several persons.
Then, heading to our last stop of the day: Khai Nai Island.
We spent quite long time here, for snorkeling (again!), swimming, and for just lying on the beach. Perfecto!  Me love it!! White sands beach, beautiful sea, with a lot of fish too.

Leaving Khan Nai Island, heading back to the pier, we sat on the back of the boat to avoid sea-sickness. But, in the middle of our way, it was huge rain. Hahaha yeah, I didn't get a sea-sick, but I'm all wet wet wet, and it was very cold. Still, so much fun indeed. Reached hotel around 5.30. Tired, but happy. Nice trip :)
And this is the compliment of the day.....
Too bad you don't speak English properly, dear...
As we don't have to get up early the next morning, we decided to explore Patong area this night.
We had seafood dinner at The Beach restaurant, on Patong Beach. Because it's raining, we cannot dine at the beach, too bad. The food is quite ok, and quite pricey too.

After dinner, we exploring BangLa Road. Basically it's a closed road (no vehicle entered), with a lot of shops, bar, pubs, and all that become main tourist centre. It feels exactly the same as nightlife in Pattaya, if I am not mistaken it was on Pattaya Beach Road. We just walked through the road, stopped at several shops, bargaining like crazy, buy few things, then we just go back to hotel. Personally, I am not much into nightlife activities such as pub, bar, and so on. Plus, we are damn tired that day. And we still have another agenda the next morning. So, it's a wrap for today!
Day 5: City Tour, Phuket FantaSea Show
Today we have 2 agenda: city tour the whole afternoon and watching Phuket FantaSea Show in the evening. City tour was quite packed, we're visiting many places and must be finished within 5hours. Since they said picture says thousand words, so here they are...
Karon Beach

Karon Beach
Kathu Beach
It feels damn gooooood to be on the beach. I looove to be surrounded by the clean sands, clear water, and not too many people. Feeling so good. I really wish I could spend the whole day (ok, maybe half-day would be enough), to just sit there doing nothing, slurping some cold drink. Yeah, dream on, girl!
Next, we stopped by the "view point". By the name, you could know what this place is all about. It's the place which has the beautiful view of Phuket scenery, and a lot of people come there to take some nice photos of them with the magnificent background.
View Point
Then on our way to next stop, our guide offered us to try Elephant Trekking. I don't even have to think about it, I know the answer already, big NO NO. I don't like animals, any kind of animals. Even more, I can't stand the smell of them. And I'd bet elephant wouldn't smell nice. Nanda interested in trying, but she was not sure. She's always like this, want to try, but scared. So she has tp be convinced if she really wants to try, she'd better go for it. Otherwise there's no another chance.
Young elephant riding on an old elephant *ups*
And she did it! It was 45minutes trekking, and super hot. Smart choice for me, just waiting for her and keeping busy with BBM of course. Oh, and the elephant is old!! (S)He is 50-ish years old.
After finished trekking, we're heading to another view points. As it was super hot, I don't bother to burn my skin even more. I was waiting at the car while the-model-wannabe taking some pictures (of her).

Next we stopped by another beach and it was so beautiful, but I totally forgot its name. Here, we don't care that we don't have spare clothes. It was super hot, and who can resist to not get wet by seeing this?
That wasn't me, BTW.

Love it!!!
We're all wet, and we don't have spare clothes. Lucky us, at the next stop, which is another view point, there were some shops selling dress.
Enough of getting wet. Super hot and super hungry!!
Now, lunch time!!! I forgot what's the restaurant name. It's seafood restaurant. The food tastes very good. Much better than yesterday.

Last stop of this city tour would be visiting the famous Wat Calong.

On our way back to hotel we stopped by the souvenir shop, and all are FIXED price. But, unlike Jungceylon, not many choices here. We just bought few key chains and small stuffs. As it was already late afternoon, we have to go back to hotel, and prepare for the evening.

Program for the evening is watching Phuket FantaSea Show, and it includes dinner too. It is located on Komala Beach. When we arrived there, we were amazed. We never thought the place was very big and nice, too. I also think it would be similar to Simon Cabaret Show, but it was totally different. It is such a huuuge complex, consists a lot of shops with unique building.  Nice!

Palace of the Elephant (with 2 elephants on each side)
We're ready to watch the show!!
As we entered the theater, security was quite strict. They prohibited all devices that could be used for recording, so we have to put our camera at their deposit counter, and not to forget also the lovely BB.
Just before entering the theater they have one hall that provided photo booth with some characters. There were animals (baby tiger, elephant) and also other characters. We also got ourselves a picture with one of them.
Two Queens of Phuket FantaSea Kingdom :)
 Last Day: Back to Jakarta!!
Time flies when we were in Phuket. With many activities, we didn't realize that we have to go back to Jakarta. But, I got to be honest, eventhough I don't feel like going back home yet, my money won't lie. Almost ran out of money there, LOL! We went to Jungceylon again to buy few souvenirs for family and friends, had lunch there, and back to hotel for going home.
As I mentioned it a lot, in case you are wondering how it looks like, here is the famous Jungceylon...
The Famous Jungceylon
On our way to airport we stopped by the big snack shop, called Pornthip Sea-Store. They sell many things, you should try their paste, many kind of that. It tastes good :)

Well, that's the wrap for the whole trip. I hope these 2 posts giving you brief figure about Phuket.

Love,
Ninta
